All About Ottillee Bottomly

"The late afternoon sun was already casting long shadows over the countrysde, a fine mist hovering over the purple heathers, yellow gorse bushes and gnarled old trees."

BRIMSTONE MOOR

Brimstone Moor's about an hour's drive from Dragondah. It's right in the middle of Cornwall rather than on the coast, so it couldn't be more different from back home. Here it's all mossy, moist, misty and sheepish – well, when I say 'sheepish' I mean there are lots of sheep around! And not much else, to tell you the truth. I mean, there's a prison and my boarding school too, of course. But other than that, all you've got are pre-historic standing stones and man-eating peat bogs and ginormous sessile oaks and the kind of hill (or tor) that looks like a doddle to climb but turns out to be a grave danger to the life of 11-year-old schoolgirls. But I'm still very thankful I came to Brimstone Moor because this is King Locryn Penhaligon country, exactly like Dragondah. And I can't wait to unearth its ancient secrets...
